Ingrown Hair on Butt
When it comes to removing hair from the buttocks, a great deal of factors can contribute to the discomfort of battling ingrown hairs – a condition that often develops when shaving takes a turn for the worse. However, other forms of hair removal, your personal grooming methods, and other lesser-known causes of this widespread occurrence are often overlooked. To stay ahead of common skin irritation, it is suggested to keep up with the symptoms, signs, appearance, and source of ingrown hairs.
Appearance
Ingrown hairs form on the butt when a hair becomes trapped under the skin. Usually, a jagged hair tip that curls back into the epidermis or new growth that emerges out of the follicle at an angle jumpstarts the symptoms of this condition, which range from mild to severe reactions. Localized inflammation and redness first develop – sometimes accompanied by a small bump. If the ingrown hair becomes infected, pus will collect on the surface of the skin to form a pustule. Erupted pustules can bleed and turn into scabs that leave behind scars. Other symptoms of ingrown hairs include itchy skin and a tingly sensation.
Causes
You probably never thought that what you wear could have an affect on shaving the butt. Exfoliating this part of the body probably never crossed your mind. However, these are the kind of things you should know before entering a round of hair removal for the butt when you’re interested in increasing your chances of avoiding ingrown hairs and other common skin irritations. Typical causes include:
a) Hair Follicle Irritation:
Depending on your level of skin sensitivity, you may experience irritated hair follicles when switching between different shavers and blades while removing hair from the butt. You should also make sure that any shaving equipment you use is clean. Toss away old disposable razors; use rubbing alcohol to sanitize; and clear hair from the blades of electric shavers.
b) Accumulation of Dead Skin:
Without a good scrubbing or round of exfoliation, dead skin cells are allowed to clog up your pores, which can cause ingrown hairs to develop.
c) Rushed Shaving:
It takes time to execute a clean and non-irritating shave, which cuts down your chances for suffering ingrown hairs. A rushed shave increases the risk of nicks, cuts, and scrapes, which creates openings for bacteria to enter and cause infection.
d) Tight Jeans:
A pair of tight jeans not only has the capacity to cut off your circulation, but can also cause you to suffer a bad case of ingrown hairs.
e) Against the Grain Shaving:
When you don’t follow the natural pattern of hair growth and shave ‘against the grain,’ you run the risk of creating jagged hair tips that curl back into the skin after removing hair from the butt.
